I made this card yesterday at an SU technique club. I really love that faux mother of pearl, which is hard to see. It's easy, just scrunch up some plastic wrap, add a little bit of the new Shimmer paint (I don't know if we used the frost white or champagne mist) and lightly dab.
I didn't finish the card because the sentiments chosen were all about 'get well.' I don't send get well cards to people with cancer and I usually don't send get well cards, period. So I changed my sentiment, used a different ribbon and added some gold acrylic dots in various places. The inside sentiment is by Albert Einstein: 'There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.' I think living your life is a miracle in and of itself.

I must try this with a shimmer paint, because I used to have an old Lumiere dauber but it's pretty much totally dried up at this stage, and it is indeed a lovely look. Thanks for the reminder. I like the vintage look, the roses remind me of the Redoute illustrations, and the wide ric-rac looks just wonderful peeking out from behind.
Dream is a good sentiment - we all need to hold onto dreams.

Jean this is so beautiful and is sure to be treasured by Ellen. She is grateful for every moment and see's the positive in every circumstance. The Albert Einstein sentiment is perfect. Thanks so much Jean.

This is beautiful, Jean and thanks for the reminder of that technique. Love the gorgeous stamps on this one. I agree about get well for a cancer patient too. I prefer thinking of you. Fantastic card and I can imagine the shimmer from using the shimmer paint.

Gorgeous flowers and the touches of Gold on the sentiment are great. I totally understand not sending get well cards to cancer patients. Ellen is going to love this card.
