Pat is our hostess for this week's MMTPT539 Go for the Gold tea-party, with Eager Beaver (Ellen) as our destination. Check out the challenge to see why I used what I used on this card .
I had the gel print which had pink and gold already, so I pulled that out for my base. I wanted to use the clock stencil but I didn't want to stencil white through all the open spaces and cover up most of my background, so instead I inked it with white pigment ink and used the dry-embossing with stencilling technique as given in TLC570.
Then I hit a problem, because although I left it to dry overnight, when I stamped the sentiment directly on the base the next morning and embossed it with black ep - a lot of the white ink was obviously still not set. So instead I stamped and embossed the sentiment on vellum, tore it to fit, edged it with gold and stuck it over my boo-boo. I added a gold washi tape strip along the bottom, and gold Stickles round all the other edges. Stamped Cheesecake on watercolour paper and coloured him with distress inks. Then I just drew a few little dandelion seeds floating here and there and added some Stickles to them.

What a great gelli print bg....love it! The vellum stamped verse was a good way to save your boo boo. I like all the gold edgings and that sweet little "Cheesecake" is just the cutest...I'm sure she'll love it!

I've always loved this scripture and I think it's perfect for the recipient of this week's cards of encouragement. The clock background is so dramatic and I love the whimsical little mouse paired with it. Very special card for Ellen.

The gelli print is beautiful and looks fabulous with the clock stencil. Using vellum for the sentiment really makes it stand out, great job finding a gorgeous work around. Beautiful card!
