I made this card for a guest design post at Christmas Card Throwdown challenge blog for their November theme challenge. The theme this time is "Snowglobes."
I opened the snowglobe base, topper, & globe (from Doodle Pantry--now discontinued) and the Santa image in Photoshop. I determined what size I wanted my finished panel to be, and created a blank digital "canvas" that size. I brought all my images onto the canvas, sized them to fit, and arranged them into my composite image.
I typed the greeting in and used the "text warp" tool in Photoshop to curve it. That took quite a bit of fiddling, but I finally got it looking like I wanted. Then I printed the whole thing onto a panel of watercolor paper that I'd cut to size. I added a line with a black fine-tip Micron pen, to create a "table" surface for the snowglobe to sit on.
I colored the image & background with my Inktense pencils, using a damp paintbrush to pick up the color from the pencils & apply it to the paper. I made the area inside the globe a bit darker than the background, since that is how it would look in real life. When that had dried, I went over the snowflakes with a white gel pen. I used some thinned-down white acrylic paint to add streaks to the globe, to mimic light reflections. That was probably the most scary part, since I had the "opportunity" to ruin my image and have to start all over! Thankfully, it worked out OK.
I matted the panel with pink cardstock, and added a very narrow mat to that with white. Finally, I adhered that to a green A2 size piece of cardstock, and mounted that onto my white card base. I really love how this card came out! I will send this to Send a Smile 4 Kids.

Oh, Andrea! Bravo for you on doing all of the designing in Photoshop! It's fabulous, and I love all the wonderful elements inside the snow globe! Beautifully colored and wonderfully finished, and I love the curved text above! I especially love how you've colored (or shall I say painted) the light reflections on the globe glass. I LOVE it and think you have rocked this one! Hugs and love, sweet friend! xoxo

This is just adorable and I'm a fan of using Photoshop too! Great to be able to resize and combine different stamps. Wonderful job on this and on composition! Only recently I learned too how beautifully color prints if you print photos on watercolor paper. It's better than the expensive stuff I was using.
