You know, it really stinks when you are super happy with how a card turned out but because of lighting issues, you can't make it look like it's worth it's salt in a picture. :-/ Anyways...
I actually started the design of this card based off CAS496, "Stormy Skies," (though fall is my favorite season, a pretty snowfall is my favorite type of weather!), but obviously this turned into a non-"clean and simple" card.
For WT713, I drew inspiration from a fresh blanket of snow. I know the fuzzy, warm kind of blanket was more what the challenge was going for, but with the beautiful snowfalls we have had over the last week in Northern MN, the white kind of blanket has been on my mind!
For TLC715, I used my stitched hillside dies to create my own "stencils" to mask off my hills, as well as created a stencil for the moon when sponging my background.
It's hard to see in the photo, but I created my own snowfall by use of my trusty Gelly Roll pens. I started the card wanting to thin some white acrylic and spatter it for the snow, but after I got done sponging and was actually happy with it, I was scared to ruin it by a misguided paint splatter - I need to practice that technique a little (and soon), so I have some confidence to actually use it - I so adore how it looks on others' projects!
This card was created for my Father-In-Law's birthday - I have done nature-type scenes for him since my now-husband and I started dating, and my FIL really gets a kick out of them, so I enjoy coming up with something each year for him!
Thank you *so* much for the great challenges, and thank you for taking the time to view my card!
Have a blessed day,
C

Yes - blankets of snow did cross my mind when I was writing the challenge. I didn't want to include them in the write-up but they're certainly perfect - and just the sort of weather that would have provoked the original "blanket request". What a beautiful, peaceful scene. And it looks dry enough not to be too cold - it's the damp that makes the cold here get into your bones. A crisp fresh snowfall is a treat.

This is such a beautiful and serene snow scene. I love the glow off your moon using that color. I sure understand about splatter so I cheat a lot and use Stampendous chunky white embossing powder since I can have control over where it goes on the card then heat it up from underneath although a friend recently put it in a pan on the stove after lining the pan with a craft mat. They also have a black. Beautiful job on this card.
