Well, challenge hostesses...I have to thank you for the wonderful calls this week. I managed to put three inside of one and do justice to them all.
Wendy issued a call to USE a stamp that was more than a month old and unused at this point. What fun to spend time deciding which stamp would have the honor. It was my garage sale find of who knows what year! *God is the ultimate crafter.*
Polly (peeps321) of the MIX301 gave us the challenge to use texts of various books, maps, phonebooks (does anyone really still have a yellow pages in their kitchen cabinet?), dictionaries. It was here that ultimate crafter was whispering in my ear...Psalm 8. You'll find it collaged in two pieces on my work. And yes, cut out of a real Bible. Now my mother and grandmothers and mother in love would be mortified I defaced a Bible. I see it as sharing the word. I have a wonderful worn leather Bible from a missionary long gone to Glory that I journal in. I rather think, he would want me to spread the gospel. The hymn 'How Great Thou Art' was also torn from a hymnal. This hymn brings me to tears every time. I skipped the yellow pages, Polly, but did use text Washi tape to round out those corners.
And back to the beginning with the TeaPotter party and our hostess Jan (precious kitty) with a delightful teapot all lace and peach and some cookies TOO pretty to eat (well, maybe not). I wouldn't call myself a lace type person...well, now I do have a lace collection, but it's in the One4Joy museum...looked at, but not used. Until I parted with one of my most beloved laces for this card.
I apologize for being long here...if anyone is curious about any of the elements, pm. Thanks for stretching me, ladies. Be blessed all.

What an amazing mix of The Bible, a hymnal, and the perfect stamp! I love all your stitching, the German scrap, and oh that lace....that vintage lace makes my heart a-twitter...Fantastic card and way to rock the challenges Susan!

Susan this is such a special way to combine the challenges. I know exactly how your Mums would feel about debasing the Bible. I nearly fainted when I first saw there were Bible Journaling challenges LOL. I digress, your creation is wonderful my friend.

Your card is certainly one to inspire thought! Love the way you used your torn pages and that to-die-for-lace! Obviously a very inspiring week for you my friend! Love your card and the way you shared how you put it together!

I think it IS a neat way to share the word. LOVE the sentiment too. I am so with you on the lace thing. I think it looks pretty and i have a med. box full of it and yes like a museum, gets looked at once in a while but not used much...guess should try to more...great job getting the challenges...Tfs..:0)

So many different layers to this card - and they all nicely fit into all three challenges as well. So glad you shared a lovely piece of lace with us all - have lots of lace - but rarely get it out to use either.

What a special card. I look at your psalm and immediately I hear the Scripture in Song version. The show-stealer is that lace. It's amazing, and this card is sure to be treasured.
I don't have the Yellow Pages in the kitchen ...I have it upstairs where I use it for all my heat embossing, and I'll be really sad when my last one gets used up because I'm not sure we get them anymore.
