Two fun challenges to combine today! I really like Pollyâs challenge to use strips of text to make a background. I keep forgetting when I go to book sales that I need an old book that I can use for pages for my cards. So I used a magazine article, some DP, and some junk mail. I tore pieces and glued them down with a glue stick. Then I sponged Antique Linen over it.
Boy was I excited to see Wendyâs Free For All Challenge this morning! Because I have a TON of stamps that Iâve never used. So thatâs all I used for this card. I had to have these mason jars when I saw them on sale at Hobby Lobby probably about a year ago. Then I realized that I had this nice two step stamping flowers from CTMH that I bought on Ebay probably two years ago. I think I know why I never used these stampsâthis card took me a long time to make! And thank goodness for my Brother ScanNCut. I wasnât sure how well it was going to be able to see the colored flowers and leaves, but it worked really well. The label on the mason jar has a background stamp on it to give it a little added interest. That background stamp is a hand-me-down from a friend, that I also hadnât used at all. This card will go to my aunt for her birthday and I used a sentiment on the label that was more generic so she could keep it on display longerâbecause, darnit, I worked hard on this card. LOL! I also combined one other challenge into this card and that is TLC62, Dazzling Diamond Dust. Pretty much that challenge was to cover a whole panel with glittery EP. So I covered the entire mason jar with holographic EP. Wow, is it shiny and fabulous! After I assembled the card, the flowers looked dull to me, so I covered them with Wink of Stella. And added one last thing, because I keep trying to add that one last thing from my stash for each cardâcorner stickers. I do like how they jazzed up my card a bit.
So...maybe we could make this âink up a new stampâ a weekly challenge? Iâm pretty sure I could do it. Haha!

Love all the text, the sunflowers, and your amazing doodling. Nice how you rolled all that together for these 3 challenges.

I think it is the best day ever because you got to use so many wonderful unused items. Wow! And, your turned turned out so pretty. Your aunt is sure to love it. I think your idea of a new challenge to ink up a new stamp is a good idea.

Luckily, I have glitter vision and and can see all the shine. I see all the work you put in, too. You really did create a timeless beauty with the perfect sentiment totally worthy of a year round display.

I never thought of animal blood donation! That's what I love with this sort of background, reading all the little bits (and wishing that there was more of them!). Lovely flowers and great corners. The Use It challenge is an ongoing one which encourages people to use older stuff. I was in it in it's inaugural year and each month challenged myself to use at least four un-inked stamps...it was great. But I'm pretty good at self-motivating, so like with Christmas cards, I just keep on on my own.

Jen this looks fabulous and wow, what a great way to combine the challenges. Thanks for all the details...and I'm with you, I would welcome new stamps and crafty stuff as a regular challenge.
