Lisa challenged us to use burlap on our cards today. Great opportunity to make a masculine card. This is for my Uncle Steve's birthday on Sunday. He likes to build birdhouses in his woodshop in the cellar. I found this fun image from Bugaboo and I used SC90 which was very Polaroid picture-ish. I have a little birdhouse stamp that a friend gave me when she decided she wasn't going to be doing any more stamping (WHAT?). So I stamped two of the birdhouses and fussy cut them and added them to the scene. As a little burlap bonus, I embossed the background red paper with burlap--you can see the pattern very lightly.

Personalized cards really float my boat. You'll be giving Uncle Stave a very nice and fun memory on Sunday. I really like how those diagonal stripes in the burlap echo the roofs pf your birdhouses. I am smiling ear to ear with all the details.

I like that you made a masculine card with the polka dotted burlap. Such a clever card.

Oh Jen, this put such a smile on face. I think it's fantastic - and obviously so perfect for your uncle. But I'm puzzled by a week with no weekends ;-), I'd hate that. Great printed burlap, and I bet it added super texture for embossing with too.

How perfect for your Uncle Steve, Jen! Very creative the way you made the scene personalized just for him by adding the birdhouses! Love the burlap texture and your chevron printed burlap!

This card is a hoot!! I love how clever you were to emboss the burlap, and I love that you hand wrote all the "happy" around your card. If I had all your "hands on" talent, I might be able to save some money on embellishments. Nah, just kidding. I fold when I enter a Hobby Lobby. I'm sure Uncle Steve will love this!!

What a terrific masculine card, super image you have coloured, too, Jenn! I thought masculine when I first read the challenge details, and I have a son having a birthday next week, but went in the completely opposite direction~
