This is not at all what I was planning to make as a second creation inspired by Janelle's Royal Garden 300th MIX challenge. But it's what I ended up with, trying add colour to the dark evening last night.
I started with a canvas which had a gessoed dictionary page adhered to it. I stamped and embossed the Flowering Flourishes all round the edges to act as resist, and then misted with a mix of Lindy's Starburst and Brusho Acrylic mist sprays.
My grass border and the hollyhocks are cut from the edges of gel prints. The extra hollyhock flowers and some of the freesia blooms are cut from watercoloured tissue embossed with gold. The other freesias, I think the purple ones are a DOX background scrap and the orange ones are Brusho sprays. I added a few of the MFT Blissful Blooms - I coloured and cut an awful lot of them when I was sick, it would appear. Stickles and Liquid Pearls were used for all the flower centres and stames.
I used gold Liquid Pearls to enhance the branch that the bird was going to perch on. It's cut from a piece of Yupo with alcohol inks, and very carefully embossed with some Frosted Crystal embossing antiquities ep. I stamped some prickles from Art Journey in gold and silver, and added tiny gems to the centre of each of the stamped flowers and to the tips of the bird's crest feathers. It's edged with copper tape from my Chibitronics kit .

This canvas is one of the most exquisite I have ever seen. It is bright and gorgeous and has such a magical feel to it. This could the book cover about Indian goddess in her royal garden! I do believe I have found my newest favourite Cook22 project for 2018. I hope you can tell how much I love is - every inch of it my friend.
