Forgive me if I repeat myself: my mother had three different cancers, including breast. They were not related. Because of her Alzheimer's, she didn't understand why we needed to do anything about the bc because she didn't feel unwell.
I used three different pink DOx inks to make the background, plus the Pearl Ex bubblegum spray. I used yesterday's sketch with one change. I paper pieced the bra on the model. Remember when bras looked like that? Ick.
I am also including an article, take it or leave it. It is about how sometimes it's not helpful to call having cancer 'a battle or a fight or anything remotely military.' Having cancer is part of some people's life and they need to keep on living with cancer. yes, it is huge to hear that diagnosis, but once you are diagnosed with cancer, you truly live with it the rest of your life; even if it is 'cured', it can come back. I happen to like the idea of not battling with oneself, doing everything you can but not wasting energy on fighting, but that's my opinion. Also probably not the best idea to send 'get well' cards. Sometimes that isn't an option. Thanks for listening. https://www.theguardian.com/society/...ight-or-battle
PS if anyone knows someone I could send this to, pm me please. i don't know anyone right now.

Thanks for the link to the essay. I have bookmarked.
Great job on using the SC with all the pink for the WT.
I hear you on the structured garment. Maybe makes the
waist look smaller!

I like how you used the sketch to make this pretty card and I've read your post and can understand your opinion, you could use the cards for a cause or one of our Teapotters challenges to send this card if you don't know who to send it, it's just an idea...

I picked out the sketch straight away. I like the wavy lines in the DP combine with the embossed flourishes and swirls. I don't remember to emboss DP often enough. Thanks for the link to the Guardian article, too.

I completely agree once you get diagnosed with cancer even if you are in remission you are dealing with it the rest of your life. I am sorry to hear your mom had 3 types. Cancer has taken so many of my family members. Terrific card for the sketch and the Think Pink challenge.
