This is for Jean's wonderful Teapot Tuesday teaparty. The story brought tears to my eyes and I thought it fitting to send my favourite card I have made this year.
I made this for a CAS challenge before we went away but I didn't upload it as I know CAS cards are only supposed to have one main focal point. I have a stash of cards that don't hit the mark LOL.
This is a Mo's digi image printed onto copy paper and mainly coloured with Prismacolour pencils, pencil blend and a Prisma blending pencil. The harder you scrub the blending pencil and Zest-it pencil blend, the shinier your picture becomes.
If you want anything to be super shiny (like her hair is), use one of your least favourite Copics and add long flicks.
I have never damaged a Copic marker by adding highlights in small areas, where I have been very, very light handed with Zest-it....however I have damaged quite a few markers when doing things like her hair.
Cleaning the nib immediately after use certainly helps, but I usually forget. Dead copics make for a handy pointy tool, for applying glue, or using as a pointy brush for dotting on paint spots, or dipping into alcohol to lift off ink.
I made the grass with Prismacolour pencils and to fill in a lot of white bits, I gently swished a light green Copic marker over the top. The terrific tutorial by Elizabeth (using Copics) is found here at SCS.

Aw, what an adorable image and you have coloured it to perfection, as usual, Susie!! Her hair looks amazing and I like how you have used copic flicks for the grass - I must remember that tip! This is also wonderfully framed and, IMO, perfectly fine for a CAS challenge!

Susie, your image is precious and deeply endearing. To know there are so many wonderful people involved in rescue shines the light of hope and love! Your card is all that and more my friend!
Hugs!
