This week's featured stamper is Susan, known as SusieQ-lovesStampi. It was fun to browse your gallery Susan, and I was drawn to this card: Brilliant Butterfly by SusieQ-lovesStampi at Splitcoaststampers. Such a beautiful card and one that makes me stretch.
I focused on the collage style background and similar layout and changed the colors and stamps. I wanted to try for a masculine look.
First I rolled my Whimsy jumbo roll covering the front panel. You can still see some evidence of that stamping. I followed that with a number of images from the Traveler stamp set in a variety of ink colors. I stamped the ship on another piece and fussy cut it. I don't have any Soft Suede colored twine so died my white twine that color. I sponged around the edges of the card as well as highlighting some of the stamped images. This background was a stretch for me, I love it when challenges do that. Another departure for me was to use my scissors to distress the edges of the Soft Suede panel that is matting the front. It just seemed to go with the theme.
Congratulations, Susan, and enjoy your week!
Thanks for looking!

A terrific card, Catherine! I am mesmerized by the bg you created - there's so much going onto draw one in. Love the travel stamps paired with the eclectic waves & bubbles. Fantastic dye job on your cording.

Wonderful masculine collage background...love the travel theme...compasses, luggage, tickets, maps, bubbles, waves...such a great collection! Your ship resting just above your twine has great dimension, pops right off the page, and looks like it is ready to cross that invisible Equator line! Great masculine card, Catherine!
