Pat is our hostess this week for the MMTPT532 A Friend In Need challenge. I've made three cards with flowers using her suggested colours, and will add another card for Anita from my stash.
If you know anybody who you would like to be the "destination" for a tea-party (in other words, receive a shower of cards), check out the Request a Tea Party thread in the challenge forum - you'll find it stickied near the top. Celebrations, support, encouragement... we can do them all.
Karen (Art Deco Diva) made a lovely card for the recent challenge for Karen Aiken's mother, and she mentioned that yellow was the colour for friendship in flowers, so along with Pat's challenge, that's now thoroughly lodged in my brain. I used yellow, pink, orange and red to colour to my two different flower arrangements.
The Unity flower were coloured with pencils, then framed with a fancy oval and added to a wood-embossed base. I used brads to add the sentiment, and filled in all the little circles in the frame with coordinating Liquid Pearls.
For the Essence of Love card, I coloured the image with pencils, then distressed the edges and sponged it heavily with Antique Linen. I threaded fine twine through the card and added a little bow. The background paper is some old Cosmo Cricket, and I added lace to go with the old-fashioned look.

Aww Sabrina, you have taken the color of yellow for friendship and totally ran with it my friend. I love how gorgeous both of these cards are even though they are done in different styles. My dear grandmother would choose the one on the right and I would choose the one on the left, even though both are stunning! We used to play games like this and it was so much fun. These beautiful heartfult cards will delight and please the recipient(s) immensely! ~Karen.

They are both gorgeous! The one on the left with the woodgrain bg is so lovely in the die cut with the liquid pearls. And the card on the right with the tulips image wrapped in newsprint is super....I love tulips..Your lace and the bg paper really show them off.

These cards are just beautiful. So soft and pretty and cheerful as well. BTW, my Mom is still receiving cards and she is beyond thrilled at complete strangers took the time to send her something. When I visit her next I'll take a photo of her with the cards to share here.
