I doubled up on the challenge and made the skull with Lydia's Foiled Impressionist Collage challenge from yesterday. Followed her directions, but used a heat pen with the gold foil for more precise placement of the gold squiggle lines. I learned a lot on my Scan N Cut. It didn't like cutting through the gel medium paper collage skull. Pressure was set at 9 and the blade at 4 and it wasn't a thick paper. Had to clip it by hand here and there when it was re-cut several times. I also learned more about how to download files and send it to the machine. The top hat was found at www.publicdomainvectors.org. It's actually cut in 4 pieces and laid down on sticky label paper to hold the pieces in place. but I ended up covering those details with the flowers. The black rings around the eyes were cut by machine, too and glued on. Eye flower stamps are circle punched and laid behind the skull. Detailed with a heart punch nose, rhinestone eyes and a sharpie around the teeth. All was mounted on a simple embossed floral pattern so the skull would be highlighted. WHEW!

How fun is this card! I will have to check out Lydia's technique. Looks so cool. I love how you used the heart punch for the nose and the flower punch for those eyes. Awesome Halloween card!

WOW Lori this is GREAT!! I liked that flag too but couldn’t figure out how to do a card. This mixed media technique is perfect for your skull. Brilliant work!
What a cool skull! The foil technique is gorgeous on this guy! You did a great job with this even though your scan and cut didn't like cutting through the layers!
