I finally got this done. I do beach scenes fairly regularly, but this time the tiny ATC size intimidated me with this torn paper technique. I don't know why, but it took me a bit to work up to it. The tiny Wonderful Woodcut lighthouse stamp--throwback to Sale-a-bration 2001--seemed like a good fit.
I extended the scene from the stamp (inside the frame) with a journaling pen. It looks fancy, but wasn't really hard to do. I colored inside the box (the stamped area) with Many Marvelous Markers and also shaded the box with a Smoky Slate marker. Outside of the box is mostly sponged with details added with markers and pens.
The sand was stamped with the splatter from Itty Bitty Backgrounds. I have to say, that stamp set has endured the tests of time. I still use it fairly regularly.
Shine was a partial sentiment from a non-Stampin' Up! stamp. It was the only short sentiment I could find that seemed to belong there.
As I worked on it I had mixed thoughts--some of Nubble Light in Maine and some of our recent visit to Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge and its lighthouse. Both are beautiful and deserve their own cards.
This Artist Trading Card is for my ATC Technique Album.
