CAS watercolour challenge for this month is trees. https://caswatercolour.blogspot.com I wanted bold colors but was having trouble achieving it with the inks from my stamp pads. I had out about 12 pads by the way!! Anyway, I went over the watercolor with watercolor pencils and pastels. The paper got overworked and ended up peeling some at the top. But I told myself that maybe that helps it look like clouds! Ha. Honestly I put more time than one should on this little picture, that I didn't want to start over. Getting dark colors with watercolors is hard! It was still enjoyable to make in spite of the huge amount of supplies to clean up afterward. Maybe another day I will try making a sunset again with just watercolors. #watercolorgoals!

It is hard to get dark colors with watercolor, Donna. I think you've done a wonderful job and added texture is an added bonus! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Christmas!
This is so serene and beautiful! Love all of the different colors you've got going on. It's a great mix of lovely sunset hues and deep greens for your ground. I love your long rectangular layers. It makes the trees look taller.
Thank you for your uber sweet comment on my card. I sure hope you get some lovely blooms, so we can see your creations.

Hi Donna. Your beautiful landscape is gorgeous with the deep colours from watercolour pencils and pastels. I do think that the top part does look like clouds ... a happy accident! Creating deep colours with watercolouring is not always easy. If you have re-inkers, try using the concentrated ink to watercolour ... it should give you some saturated colours. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card with us at CAS Watercolour!
What a beautiful scene card, Donna! I love how you made a framed scene and your colorong is perfect! Love the lettera below the painting too. Such a sentimental and pretty card!

Wow! That sunset background is stunning. I like the way you've framed the focal image and left a lot of white space around it, really lets it pop on the page.
