A simple Halloween card for Send a Smile 4 Kids. I got this greeting stamp on clearance at Hobby Lobby for under $1.00! I don't do a ton of Halloween cards, but I couldn't pass up that kind of bargain. I paired it with the jack-o'-lantern from "Bear Ware 2" for this card.
I stamped the jack-o'-lantern in Black Shimmer ink onto a small scrap of bristol paper. I did a test stamp with that ink on the back of that scrap, since I wasn't sure if the ink would work with Tombow markers. After letting the ink dry thoroughly, I colored over it with a marker, and the ink stayed put! So I stamped it again on the front side of the paper, let that dry, and colored it with 2 orange markers to give some shading. I also used a green marker for the stem. I punched that piece with a 1" circle punch, and punched a mat with a 1-1/4" circle. I glued the image to the mat, and let that dry.
I cut a panel for my greeting from some light purple cardstock. I matted it with a darker purple, and trimmed the mat to 1/8" on all sides. I punched two 1" circles from a scrap of patterned paper, and glued those and the focal circle along the bottom of my greeting panel. Then I used my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to help me position the greeting. Since it was a wood block stamp that I'd converted to cling, I couldn't see through it to position it properly, hence the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig. I stamped the greeting in Versafine.
I adhered a black A2 size panel to my card base, and mounted my green patterned paper onto that. I used my Tim Holtz centering ruler to help me position my greeting panel, and adhered that in place. A fairly quick and easy card to put together, and hopefully one that will bring a hospitalized child a bit of cheer!
