For today's Ways to Use It challenge - Would You Be-Leaf It? I chose to use the Stamping With Leaves technique that Sabrina listed for us.
I went out into my garden to get a plant leaf rather than a tree leaf.
I ended up trying two kinds of leaves and made two cards - this is the first one - using leaves from my pink geranium plant.
I pressed the leaves into 3 different Archival inks - blue, green and orange. I placed a piece of computer paper over the leaf and ink pad so I could really press on the leaf without getting all inky!
Then I removed the leaf from the ink pad and laid it onto a watercolor paper panel. Again, I laid a clean sheet of computer paper over the panel and rubbed over the leaf to get as good an impression as possible.
And it worked wonderfully - although the veins in the leaves are more prominent than the fleshy parts.
I layered the panel to two die cuts. I added some splatter using watered down Yellow Oxide Acrylic paint and a paint brush. Tapping the paint brush over my finger to get the splatter - I tried it on paper first to be sure I didn't have too much on my brush!
I made the lovely die cut border along the bottom using Green Foiled Cardstock and Tim Holtz' new 3D Impresslits Mini Scallop - you spritz the paper with water before diecutting/embossing (this die does both at once!) and you get this wonderfully etched embossing.

I thought that was a geranium. So pretty in the three colors.

What a beautiful composition with your trio of leaves. Smart idea to protect your fingers, I just got inky. The scalloped border looks fantastic, so dimensional.

Such perfectly shaped geranium leaves for your card! (Geraniums gave up the ghost here in this hotter-than-hot summer ... glad yours are still happy plants!)

Such pretty geranium leaves - I'm wondering if some of your that wonderful geranium scent was released as you were pressing the leaves on to your paper!

This turned very nicely! I was not brave even to try any leaves I had around my house.

I'll have to say that your method for inking up leaves worked really well. I love that you have a blue leave...not what you would expect but it totally works here.
