I was inspired by CAS496 'Stormy Skies' but in the end created a peaceful winter's night scene. :-) It is hard to see in the photo but the stars are out and the snow is glistening in their light. I stamped the image with watermark ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I cut a rectangular mask and sponged blue ink on for the sky. The snow is 'coloured' with Wink of Stella. The stars were added with a silver gel pen.

I see one star - it's time to make a wish! This is a beautiful scene, and thanks for describing the steps you took. I think the fact that the scene is not colored lends a sophisticated air to the card, and your treatment of it is beautiful!

You have managed to get "cold and frosty" down right. This is the way I remember Canada on my first trip there many years ago. Love the colour of the snowy sky which has been beautifully sponged.
