This is for Teresa's Dare to get Dirty challenge.....no details to keep it fun but you should check out the challenges! This is a piece I had done previously that I turned into a card today. I took a 5x7 card as my base and cut the dp to cover the entire front. I added a strip from a brayer off between prints sheet and framed my piece in black. I am pretty sure that I freehand drew the piece based on a coloring page. I then went over my sketched lines with Elegant Writer Pens in different colors and activated the bleeding with my water brush. Once that dried I added color with watercolors.
Funny story and basis of my title that also ties in with Teresa's screen name that always makes me think of our years in Virginia. Whenever I drove around our Tidewater Virginia area I would see water birds and say to my van full of kids, "Look! There's a heron!" A couple years ago my oldest son confessed that that drove him crazy because he could never find them.

I love how you paired the wood paper with your image--it really emphasizes the theme! Great job on the focal image, and I love the story about your son.
