I love the idea of a pop of red. I had started working on this print a while ago by adding the red lips and thought of it for the challenge. I am working on completing and framing some pieces to sell at an Artisan and Farmer's Market in town so I kept on with this for today's challenge. I used the magazine image transfer technique with my Gelli plate for the original print. This was my first attempt and by far the most successful of the day. I added modeling paste through a stencil and enhanced that today with some marker around the edges softened with water. I also added some shading around my image the same way. I punched a butterfly from a red Gelli print for another pop of red. I added some rusty metal pieces that I picked up on a walk with my dog. I added the Scripture verse which unfortunately smeared a bit. I had picked up the frames the other day and used a marker on the inside edge to add black for more drama.

If that was your first attempt at a magazine print I'm very impressed. I'm having one more go and giving up because so far everything has just gone straight into the bin. The red lips are great for the challenge and the butterfly is gorgeous.
