This is for a previous Teapotters Challenge on behalf of Victoria aka Hawaiian on SCS. SheÂ’s had some troubled waters this year, including the recent passing of her mother. From the challenge, I was inspired by one of VictoriaÂ’s favorites, a yellow Hibiscus flower.
I searched my collection to find a certain stamp set with the only hibiscus flower stamp that I think I have. It is a three-step flower. First, I stamped the petals in Daffodil, next I inked up the pistil with Daffodil, used the Rock-n-roll technique on the stigma to add a touch of Pumpkin Pie and stamped. Lastly, I stamped the base using a new pencil top eraser in Pumpkin Pie ink. I stamped the leaves in Wasabi & Celery, stamping a first & second time with each color. I die-cut the square and layered on Pumpkin Pie square. Embellished with some swirls and a butterfly punched from a leftover background piece. Heat embossed the sentiment on a paper from my stash.
My card will arrive a little later than the rest, but I did want to send one to Victoria. Every day in my craft room, I see a calendar from Hawaii that she sent to me. My heart goes out to her, as recently IÂ’ve lost two parents in seven months. So, I know itÂ’s a difficult time. Sending love. Thanks for looking.

Lovely use of the miniature flourish to frame that great modern-look hibiscus. The rock and roll worked wonderfully on the stamens. I like the butterfly, and I think the tiny heart by the sentiment is the sweetest addition.

I love the stamp you used and the the little extra touches are wonderful and sweet! Glad I stopped by to see this, I wasn't up on everything that has happened and I am glad I know about this now. You are so sweet.
