For MariLyn's Burnt Glue MIXed media challenge. Funny, because actually I have a tab open with her burnt paper bag leaves challenge open, to go back to it. But today I made flower centres.
I finally made a gel plate, so the background is my first attempt at a print, on a book page. I trimmed it down to size, stuck it to my card base and edged it with white paint, and then added Stickles over the paint.
I took another book page and sprayed it with Brusho acrylic mist, and when dry stamped the poppies in two sizes. Added glue to the centres, heated it and then coloured it black with a Sharpie. I arranged them on the base with two types of foliage, and edged them with more Stickles.
Added some stencilling with drywall mesh tape to the background.
My butterflies were stamped on vellum and embossed with gold. From the back, I coloured them with Brusho powder diluted in water. Finally I added a few sequins.

Mixed media, indeed! I love that background with the mesh and stencilling. I just knew those butterflies were stickers, but no. They are just beautifully created. I have never tried the burnt glue technique but it sure made wonderful centers for your flowers.

A STUNNING multi-media work of art, Sabrina! WOW....just love every little things about it...love the dry wall tape, the Sharpie-colored flower centers...just all the little and big touch you've added to this card. I believe, it is surely an "everything but the kitchen sink" card!
