MIX286 = Funkie Junkie - embed some fabric in your card
The poinsettia was made using the Encrusted Jewel Technique. On a warm grill topped with a piece of non-stick craft mat and a piece of parchment paper, I placed a die cut poinsettia (cut out of thick cs). I sprinkled with red and garnet embossing powders, letting them melt. I added glitter all over it and gold microbeads to the centre. Then melted clear UTEE on top to hold everything in place.
When crafting with friends, I'd randomly brushed some gold grounds that one of them had on a piece of cs to see what it was like, so trimmed that down for a background. Added a heat embossed sentiment. Then I took a scrap of red and gold mesh fabric and glued it all over the back of the poinsettia with loose ends hanging out. To finish I popped the panel up on fun foam.

Thanks for the how-to description as well as the beautiful card, Susan. I always find it hard to get enough ep to hold the encrusted bits in place - this technique sounds like an answer.

Oh my word Susan this is amazing! Such a beautiful poinsettia and the added gold and netting work so perfectly with this amazing poinsettia. I am in awe!

A very intriguing technique for the poinsettia with gorgeous results. Love the gritty looking texture from the glitter and microbeads. The mesh backdrop is a wonderful pairing for the beautiful flower.
