This is for my friend and cardmaking buddy who lost her father at the end of June and now 18 days later lost her mother in an automobile accident. So very sad!
I am able to enter this card into seven challenges... some current and some old!
#2. Ways To Use It Challenge WT681 - 3/29/18. "I've Got Butterflies". . .feature butterflies on your card.
#3. Free 4 All Challenge F4A435 - 6/22/18. "Just Over the Holler." My neighboring state is Oregon. Oregon's state insect is the Swallowtail butterfly. In addition, they have instituted several conservation programs to restore the habitat for the Monarch Butterfly in southern Oregon, the Silverspot butterfly along coastal regions, and the Fender's Blue Butterfly, which was thought to be extinct from the 1940 until the late 1980s, in the Willamette Valley. My card depicts a butterfly in honor of their butterfly conservation programs.
#4. Featured Stamper Challenge FS596 - 7/8/18. "Are we all redistamp?" aka Mary. I used Mary's card for layut inspiration with some modifications: WT481-HOPE by redi2stamp at Splitcoaststampers.
#5. Try A New Technique Challenge TLC645 - 7/3/17. "EOINA: Shaving Cream". . .try a shaving cream technique on your card. I did a Shaving Cream Background.
#6. Alphabet Challenge, Round 9 DD9ABC3C - 3/7/18. For color letter C: Celadon Green. Double challenge: add a curve in your card. My curve is in the oval sentiment layers and the butterfly wings.
#7. USEIT2018 Challenge - ongoing. Use items gathering dust in your materials or tools stash. I have used Stampin' Up's two-year retired stamps: Painted Petals and Butterflies Thinlit dies.

I love to see sympathy cards that are done in rich colors. Such a nice change from the standard. I love how you stamped the flowers behind the butterfly - a creative use of the die and the stamps. I have to fav this one!

Oh Melody, this is so incredibly sad to read about your friend. Wow! She is blessed to have you for such a good friend though. And what a stunning, stunning sympathy card you have made for her too. I adore the colors you used and how you added these lovely flowers around the butterfly too. ~Karen.
