I have been wanting to use my pencil colors on vellum for the longest time, so this color combination and the Cosmos Background Stamp from Simon Says Stamp was the perfect opportunity to get the pencil coloring done. I started off by taking a piece of 40 lb heavy weight vellum sized 8.4 inches long and 5.5 inches wide. I scored it at 2.125 inches from each end so that I can fold it and make a gate fold style A2 sized card.
I stamped the image onto the vellum using Versamark Watermark Ink pad and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder. I colored the flowers using Faber Castell Polychromos . The coloring is best done on vellum when colored on the back side instead of front. It shows through and looks really pretty. It is always good to use bright colors as they really pop.
I trimmed a panel from Fog cardstock, sized 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches and placed it the vellum card, so that I have a panel to write a message on. I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set, onto some black cardstock using Versamark Watermark Ink pad and Heat Embossed using White Embossing Powder. I placed it in the centre, glueing it only on one side so that the card can be opened easily.
