I made two quick cards for Brenda's "Involuntary Staycation" challenge, both made with a little irony. This uses an image I coloured when I was in bed sick over the Christmas holidays. I found it when I went looking for a couple of images to colour on Friday night when I was feeling so unwell that we had had to cancel a visit with friends.
This will go to my half-sister next month when she undergoes reconstructive surgery on a shattered rotator cuff (yes, Brenda, I thought of you when she said that was the likely prognosis! She fell while here for an academic conference. They immobilised the clean break and advised waiting till she got back home to MA for an MRI scan and to take it from there).
The image had been coloured with Polychromos pencils. I added some SN glitter pen to the soup bowl and vase, and shaded the green in the tray cloth to match my lucky clover gingham background a bit better.
Stitched the edges of the gingham layer, stapled on a sentiment and added some orange flowers to match the flowers in the stamped image.

This would make anyone feel better...you just have to smile when you see that funny chicken in the soup bowl. The matching flowers look so pretty and that Kelly green dp is wonderful.

That image really put a smile on my face! Love the gingham and your stitching. If laughter contributes to healing then this is at least an extra strength ibuprofen worth! :-)
