This is for Toni's WTUI Challenge for Simplicity Day. This past year, I have been using my retired papers and decluttering my stamping supplies. Recently, I've been thinking about trying One Sheet Wonder as a means to use more paper and make more cards. I send out about 20+ birthday cards each month. Mostly to cancer patients and lonely seniors, but some cards do make it to family & friends.
This morning, I watched a video about doing One Sheet Wonder. I was inspired by the person's approach to focus on the paper. She made beautiful cards with just paper, a little accent stamping & sentiments. I decided to try it with this beautiful rose paper; and I must say it was difficult to NOT add in embellishments, ribbon, embossing. In addition to the retired paper, I was able to use pre-stamped birthday sentiments from my stash. So that was good.
I was only going to use the one two-sided rose paper with green on the backside. I lost my way in the OSW a little bit by bringing in scraps (red, pink, brown) from the same paper pack. I don't have all the ink colors or cardstock colors to match this paper, so I had to substitute. I don't have the coordinating stamp set. It ended up getting complicated!
It was a good experiment on Simplicity Day to use simply paper. I will try it again. Well, I did get several easy-to-mail birthday cards out of it so that makes me simply happy. Fun challenge! TFL
