For the Color Challenge CC695 today to use Highliand Heather, Powder Pink and Balmy Blue.
I CASED one of my own cards that has been an all time favorite design to give to people in time of need. I wanted to bring the design current, using only SU! product that is current in the annual catty.
This card holds a lot of memories for me - I designed it for a fund raiser to honor my dear friend Betsy who has since passed. She loved dragonflies.
My dilemma with making it current was that I didn't think any of the dsp's matched. Color Challenge to the rescue, with the dessert option (challenge!) to design my own.
I also have a personal challenge I have issued myself to work through all of the SU! colors in July. I admit I have been avoiding Highland Heather. It was the last reinker that I bought. It's pretty enough, it's just not a go-to for me. Super grateful to check this one off the list, and it's still the early part of July! (Now on to Gorgeous Grape, gulp.)
This is my prototype. There are probably still a few things I want to do to tweak it. And it has a couple of smudges I don't have time to fix today.
But I will definitely make up a batch of these. They are very well received as sympathy cards. And as more time passes and I get older, I am needing more of those.
Have a beautiful day today. We really only have this moment. Make the most of it!

Lela, this card is so amazing. A restful and lovely sympathy card and at the same time, a fascinating mixture of colors, shapes and textures. The dragonfly is perfect to symbolize a spirit flying on. Wonderful!
