I am very nearly late for last week's Teapot Party, but I simply had to make and send this card to Ron who is recovering from a serious injury. He has a long road ahead of him and can use some encouragement. I honestly struggled enormously with this challenge for reasons I do not even understand. I made several cards and none of them were right. This card feels better than the others I made. I started off by stamping the multi-level tree, then masked it off and stamped the background trees. I added "leaves" to the bg trees using a flower stamp from the SU Watercolor Minis set. I sponged in the ground and sky and added some grass and small flowers here and there to the scene. I added the sentiment and the card still needed something. I rummaged around in my stamps until I found these deer stamps and they seemed to be what this card needed. Whew! Thanks for looking today! ~Karen.

It's already such a beautiful, peaceful scene but adding those deer was an inspired idea, Karen. What a beautiful card for Ron, it will surely lift his spirits.

Oh, Karen, this is gorgeous! It all finally came together, and I love the serene scene and that gorgeous main tree! Wow, it's a beauty! But the deer are what was the perfect finishing touch! I love them, and I know Ron will love this card as well and be encouraged and feel loved! Hugs! xoxo

All your efforts paid off, Karen! This is a spectacular card. Love how you combined the different tree stamps. The wood-grain background is excellent. Wonderful sentiment. The deer are terrific. Fabulous! TFS

The deer have made this even more of a peaceful scene. I am echoing what Liz just commented about your attention to detail. Love your idea of using the watercolor minis to add to the lovely as a tree stamp. The sentiment is perfect for this card to send to Ron. All the colors you have chosen to make this, combine to make a very soothing scene.
