I was delighted to see Janelle's Stars, Fireworks, Galaxy, Oh My! MIXed media challenge this morning. Because when I was tidying my desk last night, I came across this mask for a fairy stamp which I had been using during the week, and I thought it looked as if I could turn it into a card. Stars...she had plenty. As a bonus it fits Robin's F4A this week, though I would also love to try her featured technique of cling wrap on solid stamps.
So - I was starting out with my fairy mask, stamped on a post-it note; the original card I made the mask for was sponged with dark night blue colours and the stars are gold spray paint through a TCW stencil so that's the treatment the mask got. Also ready to go was a cling wrap background I had made during the week using Brushos and spray starch.
So, I added some bokeh circles with ColorBox Frost white and a homemade circle stencil. Then I stamped the LOTV Grunge Corners, top left and bottom right corners. I used TH Flower Garden Coneflower to stamp my grass (using the stamp rotated 180 degrees through its normal usage). I used Prickles from Art Journey to fill in the top right corner. Stamped the bubbles from Art Journey's Fungus Fairytales over most of the bokeh circles, and added SN clear glitter pen into the detailing.
Stamped the October Afternoon deer and hare.
Added plenty of shabby white chunky EP and some of the green Encrusted Jewels.
Stamped and embossed the sentiment.
Lightly sponged the edges with gold and added gold EP, then edged it with a black Sharpie for definition.
Added this to my base and after sticking it down well I added my post-it note fairy, with her wings raised slightly with some foam tape. Not my usual type of card at all.
Oops, forgot to say that for more stars, I used a stamp from wPlus9's A Pocketful, and stamped stars/fireworks along the line of WISHES, using DOX wilted violet, and adding SN clear glitter pen in the open stars.

Oh my goodness, what a complex card! The shiny layers are wonderful on top of the greens and blues. The cling wrap background is still very visible and all the layers and techniques meld together really well!

Another card that leaves me speechless. This is so full of fabulous textures and patterns. The greens and blues feel like a magical, cool forest. The fairy and her friends are too cute.
