Jeanne hosted both challenges today and I've combined them to make a 50th birthday card for my brother. The mix challenge was a hard one for me. And I kind of cheated because I had a focal image--a largemouth bass but it didn't show up when I stamped it onto the green, so I just switched to a happy birthday sentiment. I kept the ocean theme by using ocean colors and choosing a swirl BG. Then I used some nautical DP to layer underneath the sentiment. I like this card, but you know how my style is extra special personalized cards. This just isn't personalized enough for me, so I'm a little disappointed with it.

This is a wonderful card for your MUCH OLDER brother, JEn. I love the shades of water, and the nautical strip under the sentiment.

A shaped card is always fun and I think this one looks super. Your swirly background for the 50 is fab. It's funny that your focal image didn't show enough when you stamped it - it was my initial background stamp that didn't show enough on mine, I had to add another.

LOL, that '50" personalizes it for at least one age group!!! Love the colors and how you did the shape!
