Since the common theme was "Christmas" and two of the challenges required the use of wood, and the third required the card be rustic; my mind immediately went to a retired 2000 stamp I hadn't used in ages that was an old-fashioned Christmas theme with Christmas words flowing through as its background. The stamp is from the bygone company Personal Stamp Collection called "Christmas Collage". I stamped this image using Stampin' Up Early Espresso ink on SU Very Vanilla cardstock for the vintage look. Somehow it just didn't have any "punch", so I used SU Stampin' Write Markers Real Red and Rose Romance to color all five bows in the scene. It made the scene have more depth and interest.
Using my newly acquired Sizzix "Dotted Rectangles" Framelits Dies, I diecut SU Early Espresso cardstock using the third from the largest die, then diecut inside that with the fourth largest die to create a dotted frame (a subtle repeat of the nail heads in the background wood planks patterned paper I planned to use). I used Tombow glue to attach the frame to the trimmed stamped scene.
Next, I cut a standard A2 sized card base (8.5"x 5.5" , folded in half), and glued a 4"x 5.25" piece of Recollections "Wood Plank" patterned paper onto the card front. This left a nice Early Espresso edge all around the patterned paper.
I attached the framed scene to the wood plank panel using adhesive foam strips to raise it up a bit off the surface to give the card depth and added interest.
This card was super easy to make, so I am rating it at a difficulty level of "1" out of "5".
The card has all the mandatory requirements of all three challenges: wood, rustic, and Christmas themed! It would be an easy card to make several for sending to friends and family this coming holiday season!
