This card is for last weeks colour challenge;
VERY VANILLA
MINT MACARON
BLUSHING BRIDE
.....and this weeks CAS Challenge "to create something with an image of water or watercoloring".
I've gone with a very pale water colour wash for the background behind the birthday cake.
I needed a birthday card and for some reason had last weeks colours stuck in my head, probably because I had wanted to play and just ran out of time ha, ha, ha.
Jodie Mackrell's image of a birthday cake over on Bugaboo Stamps just lends itself to lots of lushes icing and I'm sure you will all agree every birthday cake needs lashings of lushes icing.
The card was quick and simple really not counting the drying time for the icing.
I printed the image then heat set the ink by blasting it with my heat gun for about 3 minutes. I then coloured the image with the copic markers and once this was done I applied a weak wash around the image.
The wash was achieved by scribbling some SU Mint Macaron marker onto a gloss tile then saturating it with water and picking it up with a very wet mop brush.
The card stock isn't watercolour and the ink isn't permanent hence the reason for heat setting the ink and working fairly quickly with the wash.
Once the wash was dry...I did encourage this with the heat gun lol, I applied the snow writer paste to the icing area and then dumped a whole lot of diamond glitter onto it while it was wet. By this time it was starting to get late so I let it dry over night.
This morning before my art class I added some colour to hte icing, stamped the greeting over stamped and heat embossed with clear embossing powder then fussy cut it and mounted it onto some craft foam, last but not least I added the sequins from SU - Fancy Frost Sequins and there you have it.
Thanks for looking
Cheers Marg

Oh myyyyyyy .... I can name 3 (of 4) Grands who would be jumping toward that icing right along with me! Filled with yummylicious appeal to anyone's sweet tooth ... er ... uhhhh... addiction! Sounds as though you started your wash as I did ... ink up that acrylic block & make color! ;)

That icing looks good enough to eat Marg. Your heat gun sounds far more user friendly than mine, I set fire to the last thing I printed! I am loving visiting your gallery while your reno's are being done. This is a CAS gem my friend.
