I finished this earlier today except for the greeting. I was going to make it a birthday then I had a call from my aunt that my uncle had passed away. My aunt & uncle are twins so I'm sending this to her. So I guess my card is more a celebration of his life than a sympathy card. He hadn't been sick, in fact he played a LOT of golf & did a LOT of bowling, but life is like that, I guess.
Anyway, I didn't have as much washi tape as I thought but I found a couple w/ black patterns, some pink & pale green & some black glitter so that's what I used. It was embossed w/ Swiss dots then framed w/ a pale mint green & the greeting added.
The inside has an Abraham Lincoln quote w/ a rose bush image & says "We can complain that the rose bush has thorns or rejoice that the thorn bush has roses." My aunt will get that..we can cry that he's gone or rejoice that he lived.
Thanks so much for looking. It's on my blog now w/ closeups & the inside: The Write Stuff

Your cards are always so beautiful. I am sorry for your loss. My mom and my aunt were twins (both gone now). Celebration of life - that is a good way to look at it. We are SO blessed. Kind regards, Lela

I too am so sorry for you loss. I think what you have inside is BEAUTIFUL. What a neat quote. I haven't heard that one...a nice way of looking at that type of thought. You found a great array of washi tape, they work wonderful together making this a lovely card for your Aunt...TFS...:0)...it is always exciting to see your pretty work.

I just saw your card Julie and I had to comment. I LOVE how you framed the washi tape for the challenge and that it is diagonal. Way 2 go on this one! Believe it or not, I don't own any washi tape, so couldn't join in today.

So sorry for your loss Julie - I'm sure your aunt will appreciate this beautiful card - we used one of the same washi's on our cards today! Love how you placed them on the diagonal - a beautiful background!

The colors of Washi tape you had all go together perfectly! We all should look at it as celebration of life, which it is! Love the quote you had for the inside!
Sorry to hear about your uncle!
Prayers for all your family!

Such an amazing way to look at death, Julie. Beautiful sentiment and gorgeous washi tape colors that look great on the diagonal! Wonderfully framed! Love this one~
