I was drawn to the flamingos in this image but of course had to give them a more dramatic bg using the MFT sketch.
I die cut a "mask" with post-its for the MFT snow drifts cover-up die, snipped off a couple of the horizontal strips so it would fit the sketch, and then placed that on a separate piece of cs. With that in place (and some extra post-its for good measure) as well as a post-it for the sun, I then sponged the 3 sections with DOX inks using multiple colors. Splattered the top 2 sections with water and blotted with paper towel. Added some texture to the sand and the waves, and a bit of extra color to the sun. Die cut my Flamingos from pp as well as cs, , stamped the sentiment (from 2 different MFT sets) and then die cut a frame for the whole panel. Popped up the frame and the flamingoes with dimensional tape. Added sparkly gems for the finishing touch. So much fun to do!

I'm sure that your flamingos are quite happy that you gave them a stepped-up place to play. Love the colours and movement in your background. Great card.

Awesome...in so many ways. I like that you can use a snow drift die for water, too. Another beautiful sky.

WOW, Maura! And what an amazing background this is. LOVE all your bright colors! Your sponged and sprtized sunset sky is such fabulous shades, and I love the technique you used on your water with your added texture there and on your sand as well. Little gems are a great finishing touch!
