This is the first card I made for this week's Sing, Sing a Song Tickle a Teapotter Challenge, which you can find HERE.
DH was coming out with all sorts of improbably suggestions that would be hard to make a card based on, but when he discovered I had a train die, he said I just had to make "City of New Orleans". He and a friend have sung this at gigs - Rory is pretty good with the harmonica.
I followed the Triple Layer Pop-up tutorial, making the card as wide as possible to accomodate the width of the dies. I cut the cityscape from black, and the elevated track from white, coloured with Sharpies. The train is cut from silver card with a black inlay, and yellow vellum behind the windows.
The front is very simple, more of the same DP with a Scripture verse stamped on it. So simple that I'm not uploading it to the gallery, but it's posted in the challenge thread.

!!! This is amazing! I love New Orleans. Your sky and skyline is so cool. I love the train die cut done in silver. It also makes me think of the traditional balconies seen in the French Quarter. Fabulous card (and I like that song, too!)

I think this is truly stunning Sabrina. I gasped when I opened this image up. I hope you will consider uploading this card into the gallery because I know people will love admiring it as much as I am. How neat that your DH helped you in selecting the theme of this card, and you delivered in a very big way my friend. ~Karen.

Fabulous! Great take on the song! I saw Arlo Guthrie perform at Disney World almost twenty years ago. That's when I made a list of singers that if they were performing at Disney and I was walking by, I wouldn't stop. We did stop for Starship at the same place a few years ago

OH my comment didn't work...um....this is a super way to do that 3d layer tech. I can just imagine this whole scene going down with the train whistle and all, so much work, but a great surprise for the recipient, I would so like to hear your DH band so neat I bet....TFs..:0)
