This is the first experimental piece I made yesterday for Ky's Push It MIXed media challenge. I'm calling them meconopsis and sticking with the poppy theme of the one I uploaded earlier. I did once have some Himalayan poppies in the garden and they really are this amazing blue, but alas, one winter they must have died as they never reappeared.
As with my other card, I ended up with a huge amount of spattered ink as well as blown. But I'd put too much ink and time into this not to use it. I added some white acrylic over the top to tone down the spatters, and added some more around the bottom, with drywall mesh tape as a stencil. I used gliding flakes (love the way they stick to the not-quite-dry alcohol ink, that was new to me),and added some spots of red Stickles as I had some spattered red ink from my poppy card, plus yellow in the flower centres. Added the sentiment, and matted it on black and gold. The little butterflies were cut from a book page mod-podged onto card. I spritzed them with yellow acrylic mist, then buffed some turquoise wax over them, edged them with a red Sharpie for definition and finally coated them with Stickles.

Sabrina, your card is absolutely wonderful! The array of colors along with the petite butterflies & stenciling takes an encore with your sentiment! Love this beauty!

Oh, I love alcohol inks and haven't used them in a bit. Super colors in your card and your drywall mesh tape stencil looks awesome. I really like the "Faith Begins" stamp.
