We had a party at church--a Fiesta theme. I came up with these plaques to honor the men who serve our class so faithfully.
I bought wooden signs on clearance and used a combination of StazOn, Early Espresso and Clear EP to cover the words that were on the sign.
Then I created the Faux Food--in this case a taco. The taco shell was circle of So Saffron. Then I speckled it with stamps from Touches of Texture and Swirly Bird. Curled it carefully with my bone folder. This was a little tricky--could have used a larger bone for this. Inside the taco I glued a little shape holder which was just a strip of paper about 3/4" wide--glued it to both sides with about 1/2" between sides to hold the taco shell shape.
The Filling: The meat is just strips of Early Espresso paper curled with my bone folder. The onions are vellum cut with circle punches. The tomatoes are circle punches of Real Red. The lettuce is cut with the Pretty Label punch using Pear Pizzazz and then crumpled.
The labels were made with Lakeside Framelits (sneak peek!) after printing the brushed gold with the appropriate wording.
