This card is for the Technique Challenge for last Monday so only just sneaking it in but so glad I tried it and also for the Inspiration challenge. The Challenge Karen aka k dunbrook hosted is so easy but so effective I think I have found another favourite way to do backgrounds, it is so versatile.
Normally I don't do the challenges at the back end of the week mainly because the natives start to feel neglected and I need to pay some attention to hearth and home.
However when I was looking in some of the galleries including recent uploads Julie aka justwritedesigns card just leapt out of my tablet and waked me in the face. Oh my what a gorgeous card, it was her example for the Inspiration challenge so I just had to go and have a look.
I can't believe this site ( Grandinroad) there are just so many gorgeous things that I would like to buy (and it doesn't help that they post to Australia lol) and the inspiration for me just kept coming and coming. Here is the inspiration for this card, https://www.grandinroad.com/colored-...ll-art/1089444
This card is the first of two that I'm going to do and it is really quite simple.
I layered the colours and I discovered it is best to use the cream masking tape rather than the dark blue artists tape as you can actually see the ink attaching to the cream tape and positioning is mush easier.
Once the colour has been layed down I drew the lines in. Cut out the little birds with the PB die and coloured the birds with Distress Markers scribbled onto a gloss tile and an aqua pen.
I glued the birds onto the lines with Tombo Mono glue stamped the greeting with Memento Tuxedo Black then over stamped with Versa Mark - Watermark using my stamp positioner then clear embossed......and that's it folks.
Happy stamping Marg

Marg, this is so like your inspiration. I love that background and I am a lover of birds so I'm in love with your card. Oh, and yes, do start ordering all those wonderful things you liked on the site.
