Pam is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has asked us to make a card using Basic Black, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette. The dessert option is Vellum.
Ideas didn't come right away, but when they did, there were so many to choose from. I expect to see lots of pandas in the gallery this week, and maybe some black and white cows, too.
I've had this background stamp for a couple of years, and had never used it. It's a little tricky, because it covers only half the layer, so precise stamping is needed to get it all lined up to stamp again. This one is my third try!
I cut the mandala from Pink Pirouette, but when I put it on the card, it was too busy, with the black stamping showing through the mandala openings Hence, the white background under the mandala. I cut my foliage from vellum, then made some flowers, sponged them, and put them in place with a couple of pieces of black velvet ribbon. Stamped the sentiment, cut it into a banner shape, black layer behind it. Then I added some gems from Studio Katia—the centers of the flowers and a few on the stamped layer.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

Such a pretty AND fun card. Love the paper and the pretty flowers, but that sentiment just adds the perfect touh. Great birthday card!
