So, this card is fairly simple. I used a couple of alcohol inks for the background along with the gold mixative. You can choose any two colors you think go with each other and use a metallic mixative for them to come together. For instance, a pale pink, silver and an orange will also look great. So it's really up to your imagination, the colors you want to choose and use! I mixed the inks on Yupo Paper, which is a speciality paper meant for inks like these. Once you are happy with the background let it dry completely. I chose to die cut the panel first and then use the inks because I found that when die cutting after the inking, portions of the ink stuck to the die cutting plates and it was a mess. In case you aren't familiar with alcohol inks and how to use them, try using this link where Jennifer Mcguire shares a tutorial on the same. For the flowers, I didn't want to use any colors because the background has so many vibrant colors as it is and using colors on the flowers will just make one bright mess. So I stamped and heat embossing in white the Simon Says Stamp Bouquet of Thanks stamp and slightly inked it with Simon White pigment ink to give it some body. The sentiments are again from SSS and I used some sequins to hold the vellum in place because you can't just directly glue vellum as the adhesive will show from the background.

You've started your gallery with some gorgeous cards - I adore this one! Beautiful job with the alcohol ink background and the decision to leave the flowers white works perfectly. Love your sequin trick for the vellum, too. Welcome to the gallery!

What a stunning background! WOW! I love it and the rich colors you've used! Makes such a beautiful background for your vellum flowers. And I agree that the trick using the sequins to hold your flower in place is clever! I love it! Hugs!
