A lot of love went into this card. It took forever, but I had to get it perfect for my mom's birthday. This card by our featured stamper, donnaks, was perfect inspiration for my mom's card. Donna has such a beautiful and fun gallery! I could CASE so many of those fun cards (and did save a cute fishing card with a bobber for future inspiration).
I liked this window shaker card for my mom because I wanted something special and she loves windows. She loves looking out windows and watching birds on her birdfeeders. So I got to use my new digi from Power Poppy that I won in the March challenge (Ooh, I can't wait to get my other stamps in the mail!). But as soon as this digi came out, I knew I had to have it. I had a great time coloring this with nice bright colors and with pops of yellow because it's my mom's favorite color. Then I cut this window with my ScanNCut and it needs something, but I couldn't decide what. I think I should have added some score lines for definition. I filled the shaker with copper microbeads to kind of look like birdseed. I think she'll love it. The funny thing is, that the whole time I was making it (and having lots of fun), I was thinking about how some mornings she gets to my house to babysit before I'm done with my card and she sits there watching me and tells me that doesn't look like fun at all. She would think this one looked like pure torture. I tell her that making ragdolls doesn't look like fun to me.

What a brilliant idea to use the microbeads as seeds! I love shaker cards, although I have never made one. I feel like you are talking about me when you say your mother loves looking out the window and at the birds. I'm right there with her and that's why this stamp is so appealing. It's got all that and then some. Sometimes it does seem hard to make cards, but when you see the end result and get to share it with someone, it makes it all worth it.

This is surely a labor of love card for your mom!! At first glance I did not realize it was a shaker card until I saw the mini beads...very clever. She will treasure this!!
