I am giving a big hug to all Aussies today. What would we do without their beautiful creations here on SCS? They're a very talented bunch. I am not doing a case of any particular card but I always notice Susie Australia's beautiful, intriguing backgrounds (not that I can replicate them) and she has done quite a few rainy day backgrounds so this is a card dedicated to her.
I crumpled foil (not too tightly), open it, and swiped my colors on it for the background, then misted with water. I put my w/c paper face down into it. Let that dry.
Placed my stencil onto the dried bg and used Rich Cocoa to place color into it. On some of the stencil, I just rubbed my stain over it and placed it face down onto my paper. Next, I stamped my trickling water and used a white gel pen in the highlighted spots.
I stamped, colored, and fussy cut my flowers. I popped them on with dimensionals.
I don't know yet what I'll use my card for so didn't stamp a sentiment.
Hope you're having fun, Susie, while you're away.
Edited because I thought it needed some color around photo.

Brenda, I'm jealous...you nailed her bg. The raindrops are perfect. Need to try again with her bg technique. Love the colors you have chosen to showcase the beautiful blue flowers. Fav'd for future reference. Thanks for explaining how you did it.

Beautiful card and photography, Brenda. Your card reminds me of flowers in the rain forest. Lovely combination of images and colors to back those pretty flowers. Thanks for playing in my challenge.

I can tell you for sure I'd rather see the rain on your card than the amount we have been getting recently - and yours looks like sunshine and rain which I don't mind at all. The combination of the stencilling and your inky background is quite spectacular.
