I printed this digi of the thistle ages ago. It's been too long since I looked at a real thistle, too because I painted the pod in the mix of Sweet Sugarplum colors, then realized it should have been green. So I went over it with the tranquil tide. It actually looks more green IRL but I do think it gave it some good shading with the plum underneath. I used the mixed colors around the flowers for a little more of the lighter color since most of the rest was the razzleberry.

I think these thistles look like the real deal. I have always found flowering thistles to be beautiful, even though they are weeds, and yours look fabulous. I especially love the hint of sparkle on your thistle flowers. You sure made a great card for the challenges! ~Karen.

Your corners look so pretty....love the light pink bg for your thistle! I get to see them IRL every time they bloom. Some of the prettiest flowers are considered 'weeds'~

Lovely! Beautiful coloring on your thistles, lovely sweet sugarplum highlight around your thistles, and amazing looks great across the greenery of the thistles. Pretty!

I love the artistic license you used to color the pods. They are far prettier this way than if they were all green! This card is just beautiful, love the watercolored background, too.

Lovely card Pat! The thistles are gorgeous with your wonderful coloring and I think the pods turned out beautifully - a happy accident! So glad you joined the CC this week!
