When I host the Color Challenge, about every 6 weeks or so, I try to pick pretty colors and a dessert option that will be a bit challenging--especially for me! Well, this week I have outsmarted myself! I chose a one-layer card as the dessert option. I had no idea how difficult that would be for me! I made two cards this week, trying to do the challenge justice. I'm not sure I hit the mark on either of them, but they're growing on me . . . . Anyway, the colors this week are Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry and Tranquil Tide.
I never seem to have a sympathy card when I need one, and at those times I'm usually too sad to make one. So I chose this week to get another card into my stash. This stamp set, Blossoms Abound, is one of the first sets I ever bought, and it is still on its wood blocks. I'm pretty sure I'll keep it forever! I took a photo of the "finished" card before stenciling, just in case I ruined it. I've looked at both, and I think I like this one better.
I kept it really flat, really one layer, no embellishments, just some Nuvo Glitter Brush. However, the CC police are on vacation this week, so if you have a few sequins or gems, etc., on your card, you can still have dessert!

Oh, Barbara, I love this one too, and I love this stamp set! It's gorgeous, and I love the stenciling. Your lilacs are outstanding and perfectly done. How funny to read that you take photos of a card before you do something else. I do the same...just in case! Haha! But it's beautifully done, and you had dessert for both cards! Hugs!

This is absolutely gorgeous Barbara, a perfect Sympathy card. The stenciling looks wonderfully soft and that Lilac image is just stunning, I can see why you've kept it over time. Thanks for the great challenge!
