I love Orange and Turquoise colors together! I played around with the colors. The results here are subtle for color but finally put something together once I liked the results. Even though the stencil didn't produce a full color print, I still liked it enough to create.
I inked the back of the stencil with Spiced Marmalade DOX then spritzed with water before placing on a piece of white glossy paper. While the stencil was in place I sponged Broken China DOX. Removed the stencil and sponged Distress Glaze over the whole panel. Next, I sponged more marmalade around the edges. Added an orange felt heart I got from Hobby Lobby eons ago, die cut the bird from patterned paper and touched up slightly with the same DOX colors. I used the Pitt Artist black pen for the eye and feet. Stamped the sentiment using my MISTI for precision placement and added turquoise nuvo drops.

Love how your stenciling turned out, very delicate and pretty, and the heart and bird are such sweet touches! I've never tried the process you described, think I'm going to have to give it a shot. TFS!

I like your combination of stencil monitoring with the sponging, I've never thought of trying that. Probably because I tend to get my stencil too wet, but printing non glossy card would get around that too. Your little bird is just sweet.
