Stacy gave us the whole Smithsonian Site for inspiration today! I clicked into the Explore Art and Design section and found a section where you could find an artist who shares your birthday. I found this piece by artist Adrian Lozano (who was born on the same day but not the same year!)
The art piece of a face made me think of Tim Holtz Dapper Die that I recently purchased.
I die cut it out of white, then cut it again in black, blue and tan to get the colors in the artwork. Then I embedded the color pieces inside the white negative die cut.
I stamped the edge in Smokey Shadow. I die cut a label out of watercolor paper and stamped the sentiment "I say Old Bean" onto the label using black ink and layered the label onto the card with foam dots. I went over the black pieces of the die cut with Clear Glitter Wink of Stella so it has a sparkle to it in the sun.
Inside I stamped : You're How Old?? Happy Birthday!
We're having a beautiful sunny day here in MA - it hit 60 degrees! I spent the morning at one of the grandnephews soccer game and actually enjoyed sitting there in the sun!.
The daffs, tulips and hyacinths are all starting to bloom finally!
Wow! This is soooo cool!!! I love how you found inspiration! I found one with my date but not the year too. When I have a bit more time I am going to have to explore that gallery more. Your dapper man is so cool. What a great card!

haha I love the sentiment and the colors on this so much Julia
and I had to grin that you qualified the birthday years... ( Henry Wrinkler was born on the same day as me ;) not the same year)I might have mangled the spelling on his last name.

I couldn't believe I could actually wear short sleeves today! Glad you had a nice day
What a cool inspiration you chose. I'll have to try this out and see who shares my birthday. Super fun card with the old-timey lace down the side and the fun sentiment! Love it!
