This card is for the colour challenge and also the Ways to Use it challenge (I hope butterflies count as bugs, they shore do in our garden, little buggers lol)
I needed a card that was a little bit artsy as it is for my Folk Art teacher's birthday three days before mine in May, so no excuse to forget it.
I did the background wash first using an SU marker Mossy Meadow scribbled onto a gloss tile and picked up with a completely saturated watercolour mop brush #6. I didn't have a Soft Sky marker so substituted Distress Marker Evergreen Bough and the colour was perfect. I dried this off then stamped the tulips.
The tulips were inked up with SU markers Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss spritzed with water from a Mini Mister and then positioned with the Stamp-a-ma-jig (yes I still use it, just not as often). I shaded the flowers with the respective markers and an aqua brush.
The greeting was done with the stamp positioner (Misti) and Blackberry Bliss ink then over-stamped with Versa Mark Watermark and clear heat embossed (now there's a surprise lol)
Last but not least I built the butterfly by punching out the image washing the blue over it both sides, spritzing it with home made glimmer mist made with Perfect Pearls - Biscotti and water (my favourite) and then stamped with the stamp with the little flowers from the SU Flight of the Butterfly stamp set (old). I created the body with some black jewellery wire a very small seed bead, a black bugle bead and a larger seed bead.
I mounted the panel onto some white craft foam and attached it to the base then glued the butterfly and sequins on with some Tombo Multi Liquid Glue .... and there you have it, thanks for looking and happy stamping.

How fun, Marg! I just used this set for my card as well! I love your tulips in purple! And a butterfly is definitely a bug, even though most of them are pretty bugs! This is a beautiful color combination!

Oh, Marg, it's wonderful to see you make a card this week! I am so happy, and what a gorgeous one it is. I love tulips, and these are so beautiful over the lovely water-color wash. Butterflies start out as caterpillars, and that's as good as a bug for me. Hehe! How very clever to make your butterfly extra special with the beads. Certainly gives it some real pop to your card. I am so happy you joined us for this week's Color Challenge, sweet friend! Looking forward to seeing more cards as the days pass! Hugs and love! xoxo
