It's time for a new Color Challenge and Karen is hosting tonight. She has chosen the lovely color combination of Powder Pink, Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip, with a dessert option to watercolor. Now, I normally love to watercolor but for some reason my water coloring mojo left me as I tried to create a card for this challenge. So I passed on dessert and instead went with one of my long neglected SU die sets to create my card.
I started by die cutting the Flourish Thinlits from Wild Wasabi and Powder Pink card stock, then adhered them to a panel of white card previously cut with a Wonky Rectangle die. The Precision base plate is an absolute must to use for die cutting the Flourish thinlits IMHO, because they are so highly detailed. I know it saved me a lot of time as I didn't have to fiddle around to find just the right shim thickness to get a clean cut.
After adhering the die cuts and the sentiment, the panel was layered on a slightly larger piece of Chocolate Chip card stock, then added to the Desert Storm card base with foam tape. I used a shimmer pen to add sparkle to the flowers and used pearls for a little bit of bling.
Thanks for looking and I hope you'll join us for the Color Challenge this week!

This card is beautiful, Stef! I love that you showcased the Powder Pink and Wild Wasabi on the main panel and used the other colors for a panel and card base. Great job, Stef!

Oh, Stef, I love these dies, and you've used them so beautifully! Love the way you've added the sentiment too! Beautifully done by finishing it with the wonky stitched die! Hugs! xoxo
