I called this plain Jane because it is not my usual ....use every color I own because I am too lazy to decide on a color scheme. I wanted to try something with beech, but after a long day of scraping gunk off patients teeth, I had no patience left to follow a tutorial. I experimented by using a paper towel to sponge bleech onto an ef and ran it through the Sizzix with blue cs. It left some very subtly light areas on the cs. ...i was hoping for something more, but I forged ahead anyway. Since the cs now looked a little old and worn, I decided to go vintage and sponges some vintage photo ink and gold pigment ink on the raised areas. I colored this tall thin digi image which left enough space to actually see the bg. Added some liquid pearls and gold gel pen details and it was done.
I always like when people add tips, so here is a way to use digi stamps...but you have to have an extra dose of patience if you try it. There are a lot of digital vintage women images on Pinterest, but they are tall and difficult to fit on a card. I used only the top half of one of them when I made this other card awhile ago. I fussy cut her and paired her with a fun frame to create my own image to color. It is really what I wanted to do with this image, but my attention to detail had packed up and gone home by the time I got around to making today's card.
Here is the card I made awhile ago...

Nothing plain about this, Francie. Thank you for even trying to use bleach after a long hard day at work - all I did yesterday was come home and go to bed, and I was mightily glad that I had that bag in reserve just in case. The vintage look is fab and suits your stylish model down to a T. I love those long elbow-length gloves - we had some of my grandmother's in our dressing-up box.
Have and love the other card you linked to - on the bookcase in the sitting-room .

I love your Plain Jane, who is not plain at all. She's such a lovely young lady, and dressed sedately, as becomes a gentlewoman. The bg is wonderful. Nice texture and the beech color is almost gold. Nicely done......sorry scraping teeth was in the cards for you today. Yuck.

I was sort of shocked to see your ID when I saw this card in the gallery...you're not known for vintage...but...this proves you do have a knack for it and you can really do any style. I love it of course..the fab image and that really cool bg. What a lovely card Francie.

Your embossed bg makes me think of the flocked wallpapers that were all the rage when I was a child. It's very appropriate as a backdrop for your vintage femme fatal whom I see has scandalously left her ankles exposed!!!

Fabulous! Not plain Jane, instead Vintage Jane. Marvelous image of a women in a different time & place. Love the subtle coloring for this one. Beautiful background! The pearls and ribbon & bow really dress it up. Great card. Thanks for the tip on using part of a digi image if it's too tall. Your other card is beautiful, too. TFS
